when I opened the cap before adding some oil change treatment I saw a something black. The black piece was that triangle there and was resting on my lifter(rocker?). Verrrrry carefully I grabbed it out with a set of needlenose pliers.
Yea, how shitty is that.. part of my oil inlet/valve cover broke off. How the hell does that happen? I don’t know. But thankfully I was already doing an oil change so hopefully no bits remain. In the first image it looks cracked cause I squished it with my pliers to make sure it wasn’t metal. Before it was intact.
But good news! My control arms are mint. Threw it up on some jack stands, wheels off, everything looks and feels cherry. Turned the wheel and slosh slosh. What? Turns out I got some air in there from when I sucked out all the fluid and replaced it. started, turned it a bunch, wheels back on, no groans and drives great.
Now my only concern is a very slight valve tap I’ve noticed over the past few days. Really hoping it’s not from the valve cover bits. Realllly hoping that’s not it. (Thankfully it was happening before I added some thinner weight oil a few days ago and the chunk wasn’t there)
